About

Who are we?

We are Agora, a student-run newspaper that aims to present an independent students’ perspective on school, news and more here at AGSB and AGGS.

The word Agora (ἀγορά) is an Ancient Greek word meaning an open gathering space for the citizens of a city. Much like the Agora of the classical era, we wish to be an open space for students to voice their opinions and perspectives on affairs inside and outside of school.

We publish daily articles, by and for students, on news, sport, opinion, culture and more and we offer a place for all student’s voices to be heard.

The Editorial team, consists of a number of current Year 12 students and meets in person nearly every Thursday breaktime in C5 at AGSB, and Day 9 in F13 at AGGS. If you have a concern to raise, or wish to chat to us in person about a planned article or becoming a regular contributor, please come along then and we’ll see what we can do for you. An alternative way of contacting us is through emailing us at agsbagora@outlook.com . Check out our Instagram account www.instagram.com/agsagora/. If you have any articles to post, let us know via our Teams page and post your article in the respective channel.

We also are advised and supported by staff members such as Mrs Haines and Mrs Cleary.
